Walkhighlands

Having not had much snow down in Clackmannanshire this winter my friend fancied a wee day trip somewhere a bit different with the possibility of finding some snow. We set off towards the Glenshee ski centre bt several signs and road reports shown the road to be closed before the snow gate. From Blairgowrie we headed for plan B, Corrie Fee. A place I have always wanted to visit in the snow although we had no idea what the road to it would be like, luckily it wasn't too bad and we made it to the carpark.

The path through the forest had thick snow but luckily a 4x4 or large vehicle left tyre prints which were much easier to walk along and follow. Before long we arrived at Corrie Fee,it is a place you really need to see in person as photos never seem to do it justice, my friends reaction was wow when we stepped out of the forest.







We thought we would head to the waterfall but this is as far as we got as the wing was blowing, the snow was thick and my dog wasn't amused!








It really is such a wonderful place to visit with not much effort




The wind was starting to pick up now so we didn't wait around long and started to quickly head back towards the car park.

As I said, it is a place you really need to see to full appreciate and it was wonderful seeing it covered in snow.

That's a great plan B there Sarah. The only time I was there was while coming down of Dreish & Mayar in the summer a few years back so it's great to see your smashing pics of it in it's winter coat and of course Penny in her winter coat too

I know, I think plan B worked out better than plan A would have It is a beautiful area. I have been there in the summer too just as the heather was starting to bloom and again last summer when I was heading up Mayar and Dreish but it wasn't such a pleasant day.

Nice to meet you too and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your walk. We made it up to Ben Cleuch and back round by Andrew Gannel, was glad to get picked up in Tillicoultry though! She needs her ultra warm coat in snowy conditions these days

I was down Glen Cova yesterday.Some snow left but most of ti has melted.

was in Corrie Fee on Saturday for first time in years and I agree with your fried - as I walked out of the forest I was extremely impressed and wowed- an impressive place

Looks well worth a visit esp in conditions like this - have never been here as I approached Mayar/Driesh from Auchavan instead - this looks a lot nicer - cheers

We're very taken with Penny's coat. Did you get it from one of the specialist greyhound/whippet suppliers? The Whippet has coats, but none as pretty as that one.

Ah wonderful Corrie Fee! lovely, Penny suits purple Love your icicle piccies. Popular place judging by the number of footprints in your photographs.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

She has had this coat for a few years now, someone on a whippet forum used to make them, it is very warm and snug. She also has a lighter weight fleece from equefleece which is good as offers a bit more free movement. There is probably somewhere online that does very similar coats

Love Corrie Fee and Glen Doll I take the dogs up there to play in the snow when there is none at home, they love it!

I saw Corrie Fee for the first time yesterday on my way up to Mayar.It really is WOW when you step out of the woods!
