gullane, place known mainly by it's location on the way to north Berwick, excellent golf courses.
for me, gullane is a very important point on the map, for a wanderer geologist like me, this place is never boring. gullane bents, a beach, one of many located east of Edinburgh (beaches go from Edi, seton sands to north Berwick and further to dunbar..)

beautiful beach but also a unique collection of rocks (going west)
the rocks of gullane are amazing, unique in its form, shape, texture and patterns (best enjoyed in low tide)

it has been a special project of mine to document these rare rocks, project I started years ago and continued more or less successfully

below are some pics of the bay/beach and further some rocks' images

Great pictures, looks like a great place for a walk. Would love to see some captions for the rock pictures, always loved a bit of geology!

Wow your pictures of all the different rocks are stunning, if I had looked at the photos before reading your description I would have thought this was somewhere up the north west coast. What a wonderful place to visit.

Lovely shots! Thanks for that, we were further down the coast at Yellowcraigs yesterday and were trying to remember where those stripy cliffs are!!
