This is the mountain you must climb...one of the signs of Highland...symbol of the beautiful area...target of walkers, climbers or atleast tourists cameras from road A82  the diamond ! 8) Going around many times and stopping to make pics with Stob Dearg in the background, thinking about this mountain and planning a trip there when the right day with good weather forecast come...looking forward to do it ! It was also my promise to my niece Monika - get her there one sunny day as she dreamed about this mountain and she really wanted to climb there...
Well, the day finally came ! :D Weather forecast sounded great, promissing good visibility and we started our journey from home unpatiently very early morning ( like usual ) :D  8)

Almost on the top junction, looking back down to the car park on A82...Ben Nevis in the background ( on the left ), Black Water Resorvoir on the right...

on the junction, we turned left to get the summit of Stob Dearg first, then back here and continue the path to Stob na Broige via the nice long ridge
DSCF7545.JPG
Unfortunatelly the summit was in clouds in the time...no views !
 :( :o :?
DSCF7550a.jpg
disappointed, not so much surprised as it happens sometime - often..., but keep smiling and hoping !
8)
We spent 45 mins, waiting on the summit of Stob Dearg in hope to better visibility, but nothing changed and we decided to continue our walk...

Walking the ridge to Stob na Broige, visibility much better now: Stob Raineach - Buachaille Etive Beag oposite

Really fine hills. Glad you had a good(ish) day for it.

As you say, that view from the road of the Buachailles is really iconic.

Monica will now definitely have "the bug"!!!.

Great set of photos - what a pity you didn't get those clear skies at the top of Dearg, but that's the way of it.
It's a tremendous walk and definitely one you just have to do. Iconic is absolutely the right term :D

You're not wrong with this summers weather :!:
These iconic peaks have been on my list for a long time, perhaps before the end of the year.
The photo coming down beside the waterfall looks nice; I'd better get it done before things start to freeze

Hope some dry clear day come in this "Summer" and you will do it before the end of this year as you wish  ...maybe better before the end of Autumn because of the descending along the Waterfall as you said :D
