Invermark Castle
Loch lee, and a perfect gap in the bad weather.
Looking up towards my destination; Craig Maskeldie and Hunt Hill at the head of Glenlee.
Beautiful spot just above Inchgrundle. Always tempted by the path signposted to Glen Clova.
On the Shank of Inchgrundle. Feeling very unfit running up here.
A sheltered airy spot for lunch - looking over to Hunt Hill.
350m vertical to the Water of Lee below.
Risky stopping for a photo on the rickety stalkers' bridge above the Falls of Damff.
Met a man tracking and photographing Golden Eagles in the area. He said he'd snapped me standing at the edge of Craig Maskeldie. He said the short stint up to Hunt Hill wasn't worth the effort - I disagreed.
I was very confused by the smell of smoke. Then I noticed that the heather must have been burned off recently.
Looking for a safe enough gully to descend from, I carried on North-East to hit the track to make a speedy homeward leg. The sleet flurries were starting to become more frequent.
