So after nearly 13 years in the pursuit, this was finally my last Corbett and it was great to see the massed ranks of the Inverness Mountaineering club joining me, Meg, Rob, Cate, Terence and of course Beinn for a great day on the hill. After almost a week of rain, the skies opened and it would be glorious. The Peter R effect again perhaps?

Parking close to Muchrachd we crossed the bridge and ascended directly up the southern flank, at one point passing an adder curled up and taking in the morning sun. After a small line of crags the slope eased off before a number of humps and bumps were crossed to reach the lofty summit. Time for photos, drink and of course a fine Montecristo cigar.

Returning the same way we stopped off for further refreshments in Cannich - enjoying a beer outside which basking in the warmth of the last afternoon.
