Completed by. Dave, Julie, Wilson and Jake.
Date. Sun 5th April 2015
Weather. Sunny winter conditions
Time. 9hrs 15mins
Distance. 17.25 km
Ascent. 1760m

Hills completed
Beinn Liath Mhor. Sgorr Ruadh
Fuar Tholl

Weather turned out to be fantastic, much better than expected. Headed out with full winter kit just to be safe, never needed to fit the crampons but we did use the ice axe on several occasions.
Took us an hour longer than anticipated, this may have been due to the fab weather conditions and the numerous stops for pictures, or maybe just the fantastic location.

Started and finished at Achnashellach train station.

Oh, hey, I saw you guys briefly, at the summit of Sgorr Ruadh -- I'd just arrived as you were leaving. Pretty much all I could say at that point was "wow" at the view. It was a cracking day. Nice photos!

Just missed you on this Dave.

We had our spaniels up on Moruisg on the Sunday, but did this horseshoe on Monday. :D

My knees didn't enjoy the terrain between the two munros, the wind whipping across from the west was rather fierce too.

The views are spectacular on this route! :D Just wish the snow patches had been firmer.

Did the reverse of this route in 1993. Since it's accessible by choo-choo it is back on the radar. Looks like you got an excellent day for it -sun, snow and inversions.

Good to see you did this on a clear day, Dave. The views from those mountains are superb. I did the three Munros in that area last June, but Fuar Tholl and An Ruadh Stac look pretty amazing too - a great reason to go back some day. Nice report.
