Second week of a new secondment and I'd been given a van and instructions to inspect construction sites around the NW Highlands. Did my employers have any idea what my main interest was!?

First opportunity to take advantage of the perks: On my way down to a meeting in Glenfinnan and I got a call posponing the meeting until after lunch. Beinn Bhan looked like it would fill the gap nicely.

One of the most spectacular autumns in recent years and the area around Spean Bridge/Loch Lochy/Loch Arkaig was bursting with reds and yellows. Parked up and ascended simply next to the burn behind the farm buildings on a faint path. This gradually morphed into a broad spur which took me to the summit plateau. There was a dusting of snow above 700m - the first of the year for me. Summit was straightforward, and although the cloud was floating about, there were beautiful vistas of Loch Arkaig.

Returned by same route due to time constraints.
