Parked at Harlaw Reservoir and followed the route to Glencorse Reservoir. At Maiden's Cleugh followed a faint path towards Black Hill. Going down I could see a direct route over the flat grassy area between the two hills. This is covered in water even though grass is growing. So avoid. I kept left rather than straight on. There are paths beside a row of shooting butts, not the ones marked on map. Eventually picked up track to top, such as it is. Had my lunch in glorious sunshine. Walked back down the north slope via heather cuts and tracks to path back to Black Springs and returned to Harlaw.
A wee walk with a different view of Pentlands.
