Boo Boo, William and Caitlin on the Summit
So the plan today was for a family walk up Ben Lomond - but after the atrocious weather and seeing the snow on the top we decided to bail and go for something a bit easier. Ben Dubh was selected based on it's proximity to a nice cafe (The Coach House) in Luss where giant cakes are produced.

We followed the standard route up onto the hill, which is a really easy ascent from a navigation point of view. Mummy decided to stop and admire the view half way up - she's now laid up with flu so probably wasn't on best form. So it was left to the intrepid climbers of myself, Caitlin (6y), William (9y) and Lucy (14y) to get the summit bagged. At this stage we abandoned plans for the full horseshoe - I will go back and tackle this sometime. Anyway motivation is a big thing for child walking like this and we soon started singing made up songs about Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood - best not to ask and also joking that Lucy - whose nickname is Boo Boo had climbed Ben Dubh Dubh. For some reason this resulted in a good 30 minutes of hilarity as we made up raps and songs all the way to the summit and back down for tea and giant cakes.

A great day and another Graham in the bag!
