This is just a short report on 3 Wainwrights I bagged from the campsite I was staying at (Parkfoot near Pooley Bridge). From the campsite there is direct access to the fells via Aik Beck.
I then headed for Arthurs Pike which has dramatic views of Ullswater to the north, from there i took a heading to Bonscale Pike. There was a deep scare to negotiate on route to Bonscale Pike which added some interest and a little scramble.
There are a couple of strange towers on Bonscale Pike on the northern slope towards Ullswater. From Bonscale Pike i took a bearing to Loadpot Hill which seemed further away then the map suggested.
The walk over to Loadpot offered some good views over to Helvellyn it was a little hazy due to excessive heat. What I really enjoyed about this walk was the lack of other people in this area even on a half term weekend.
Warning
Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.
