Bit late on the reporting of this one! First munro of the year for Robyn and I - Ben Vorlich - and the last of the arrochar alps for me (as long as you don't include that wee corbett beside Beinn Ime that nobody climbs!)

A nice early start from Glasgow and the forecast of glorious sunshine did not disappoint (as I write this, 5 weeks later, it seems like an age away). Loch Lomond was calm as you like, a hint of snow on Ben Lomond presenting just too good a picture opportunity. Having looked at previous reports, and seen it with my own eyes when climbing Ben Vane, I knew the ascent was an unrelenting slog, so we got going from Inveruglas knowing our fitness levels would be tested.

Not going to go into detail on the route, as others have done this far better than I ever could previously, however suffice to say it was decidedly sweaty! Nice wee breeze at the top though and a bit cooler, so had lunch just off the summit. Great views all around - especially looking back to Loch and Ben Lomond about 100m from the top. Retraced our steps and were back at the car in 4hrs 30mins, in time to have a laugh at some people jumping into the loch!
