Yep, I even know that I spelt it wrong - I'm not a lady (more haste, less speed :( - and this is one of the few personal details that you can't change ).

The thinking was, once you're well beyond 3 score, then you're an "alter Knacker". I can remember thinking - long long time ago - that anyone over 30 was pretty ancient....

Great walk and report - stunningly clear photos on Beinn Eighe: I seem to remember the angular quartzite there made very hard walking at times.

I know that kind of thinking. I am in my thirties and was shocked when some years ago young students (girls in their twenties) startend to adress me with the formal "Sie" instead of the informal "Du" (both means You in german). Made me feel very old all of a sudden because in their eyes I am now the alter knacker.

These rocks Werke horrible to walk in especially when wie missed the path up to Bheinn Eighe and landed on the scree. Nowhere else on the whole walk was moving so difficult. But apart from that the day on Bheinn Eighe was just perfect.

All out brilliant report - a really entertaining read and excellent photographs. Having just done the brilliant western peaks of Beinn Eighe in February snows, that was enough for me - I can only admire the fitness to do Beinn Alligin and Liathach on two days following. Besides the Liathach pinnacles are a no go for me!

Cheers Courtscotties. It is great to see that after 5 years someone still reads this old report.
I admire everyone that climbs Scotland's mountains in winter. It is sooo different from spring or summer. Two friends just came back from the Glen Shiel/ Cluanie Area and the weather was really bad. So thumbs up for your ascent of Beinn Eighe.
