The Wee Buachaille, Val's Compleation

Saturday 6th June 2015 was pencilled in as the Compleation date for Val but because of an atrocious weather forecast of constant rain and high winds it was decided to delay the climb until the following day. The main party were to set off from the A82 car park opposite the large cairn on the other side of the road, just after 0930hrs. While I was waiting for others to arrive I had a chance meeting with fellow walkhighlands member Martin and his wife Denise, last September when I was doing the Skye Whisky Challenge with Emmelie on behalf of Scottish Mountain Rescue we met up with Petr Dakota so this is definately a hill for meeting people .
A group of us started off at the back of ten and had soon caught up with the early starters which comprised two on their first munro. Martin and I had already decided that because of the good weather and clear conditions we both wanted to walk the two munros and were soon up to the bealach in just over 50mins, we reckoned that an hour to Stob Dubh and return with another 20mins to climb Stob Coire Raineach to meet up with the Compleation party at 1300hrs.

Val with some of the early starters, including two tackling their first munro, I wonder if this will be the start of the munro climbing bug for them?

We joined the tunnel of walking poles for Val to gain access to the summit cairn, time 1240hrs, ahead of schedule, nice one

After Saturday anything is better, three of us started off on the Sat to do a Corbett instead to the East of Kinlochleven but gave up and went back to the pub to watch Andy Murray on the TV
