Very easy to access with good tracks. The weather was not good (wet, high winds) so made the summit and descended rather than carry on.

Gael Charn and a' Mharchoinaich combined is a noce day out and not too energetic. This was my 11 year olds second hill experience which was fantastic. The views down Loch Ericht and onto Ben Alder were inspiring indeed. With the wee fella not being particularly strong, he acheived it fine. A grand day out.

Aparently you can combine it with Ben Udlamain and Sgairneach Mhor if you are feeling energeticc :?

Last week, I came up direct from Dalwhinnie and over Creagan Mhor intending to take in both Munros, returning via the cycle path to the Dalwhinnie Inn and a pint before the 2000 hours train. Not to be. The forecast white-out and 50-60 mph gusts arrived on time!! I made the ascent of Gael Charn slowly. The weather cleared and the view was tremendous. Sgairneach Mhor was in easy reach but unfortunately the timing would've meant a descent in the dark. It's a tricky steep descent to the farm in good conditions, but the dark and snow ground forced an about-turn. Good day though... another plus-point for Paramo!!! Fabulous gear!!
