Alex and I set off from Stevenston at 06.45 and headed for the parking area for Lochnagar, 3 and a half hours later we arrived at the almost full car park, after paying our £3 to park we headed along the excellent and well signed route to Lochnagar. We couldn't have picked a better day we had a cool breeze blowing on us and excellent visibility all round. The walk in to Lochnagar was about 3.5 miles so plenty time for the legs to heat up before the climbing started. It's certainly a popular hill everywhere we looked there were people walking, a good easy 5 Munro's probably helps with it's popularity, when we got to the 3rd of the day we deviated off the path to see the wreckage of a Canberra.

After the initial climb to Lochnagar the walk was fairly easy going, with plenty mountain hares and some ravens
