Drumelzier circuit
Posted: Mon Jul 27, 2015 12:09 pmFinding the car park is the first trick. The minor road is sign posted as a dead end, no indication of walks or car parking. After driving past what looked like an old village hall the tarmac runs out and it is a rough track for 20 metres and then behind a high hedge is a newly stone covered parking area on the left. I had my doubts as I drove up to it. Glad to see it. From there on in, the WH description is pretty much spot on going behind the house and catching the track over the burn further up. Made good time climbing the track to top of Pikestone Hill. A bit wetter walking up the shoulder to the top but nothing to get your feet wet with. Drumelzier Law is prominent all the way around this walk, despite being lowest hill.

It is then a walk round the broad ridge to Middle Hill. Still wet but OK walking. Views to Broad and Dollar Laws. Then along another broad ridge to a shepherd's cairn and then down to Drumelzier Law. The path goes past a white stone cairn. There are still a few white stones around if you want to add one, but you need to look about the heather for them.

Didn't take long to drop down and carry on over the track back to the out going track. There are cairns every so often just to keep you right. Views over Tweed valley and back to the three tops.

Just went back over the burn and back the way I came up. It is the easiest route.
