East Glenshee 6

After spending the night at Ballater the Friday saw us head for Glenshee to climb the 6 hills to the East.
We parked at Sean Spittal Bridge and followed the path - initially boggy then quite steep towards the end - up the valley and on to Carn an Tuirc.
From here it was a pathless crossing over towards Tolmount and then on to Tom Buidhe. These were the two hills I was worried about had the weather been bad (as was predicted) but it had actually turned out to be a very good day in the area with superb visibility all around.
After Tom Buidhe it was time to rejoin the main round by taking a direct line back over to Cairn of Claise and then easily over to Glas Maol and then the more impressive Creag Leacach.
Rather than descend to the road we decided to retrace our steps back to the cairn on Bathach Beag and then contour around Glas Maol to Meall Odhar. This worked nicely and there was actually a decent path to assist on some of the steeper parts.
It was now just case of following the ski tracks back down to the Ski Centre and then an easy finish all down hill on the main road.
I enjoyed this one. It helped that we had nice weather throughout with light winds making it far pleasanter on the tops than the day before.
