Done as per ‘The Pentland Hills: A Walkers Guide’ by Susan Falconer p. 83. Short day, pleasant enough but a fairly dull first half. Return route was more interesting over moorland and passed ancient cairns. Mendick Hill was a straightforward up and down ascent – too windy to hang about on top. Enjoyed the hamlet of Garvald very much; some fabulous old buildings that wouldn’t look out of place in France.
