Mamores Four plus a new pal.

Bloody knackered I was. Four Munros in a wannie – the first time in ages I’ve done that.

Met a chap at the top of the first, Richard (“Silver Bullet” here on Walk Highlands) – never met him before in my life. It turned out we were at the same primary and secondary schools – different times of course. We walked together from Binnein Beag via Binnein Mor to Na Gruagaichean where we parted company.

Isn’t it funny the way your brain works sometimes. This was quite a gruelling outing – for me anyway. I spent a lot of the time having arguments with myself inside my head.

“This is too tough – just do the first two and then go home”
“But if you do all 4 then that’ll be all the ones in chapter 12 ticked off”
“But you don’t approve of list ticking. You’ve always said do half the Munros twice instead of all of them once”
“Wimp!”
“**** off!”

And then, after the third Munro of the day……

“Better do all four or this guy (Richard) will think you’re a quitter!”
“But you’ll probably never see him again”
“I’m gonna run out of daylight”
“No your not – do your calculations again, Wimp”
“Stop calling me a wimp”

Anyway, at the end of the day I did all 4. The gruelling final ascent of Sgurr Eilde Mor only took about 25 minutes from the wee lochan. As I say, I was bloody exhausted by the end but so glad I did it. I felt quite chuffed with myself. Although my other self kept on whinging for a while.

So, for "Silver Bullet", here's proof that I did in fact bag that final one of the Mamores Four.
