We visited Scotland for the first time in 2014. Due to medical reasons, we couldn't do any walking, but from our tent on Ardmair camping, Ben More Coigach had been looking at me invitingly. This year May, we'd try to climb it's summit. Ben More Coigach had been patient. It was still looking at me in the same manner. Nature however was less patient. The day before the planned ascent on Ben More Coigach, it started storming and after long long hours, our tent got destroyed at 3 in the morning. We postponed the ascent with a few days, days that we used to warm ourselves up and dry our gear in a cottage in Ullapool. Photos from a slightly better weathered day.

More views on Assynt. I really fell in love with this part of Scotland. It's not just "a beautiful landscape" as there are many in the world. It really makes me feel different, strange, old in a good sense.

Glad you made up BMC after your tent troubles.

It really is an amazing area, out of this world.

Oh I know what you mean regarding feeling different. I just feel I belong up there, and me a city boy!

Thanks for posting.

That's it. Belonging. Pity my lady doesn't feel that way...yet... I've got the migration plans ready.
