Limited time available on a journey south so opted for a quick bimble up Meall Chuaich - have often seen a few cars in the layby but never had the time or inclination to join them before this.
16 degrees when I left the car, but it felt cooler with a stiff breeze blowing me along the road beside the aqueduct: not the most forgiving surface so I was glad of my super-cushioned road shoes for a while. Definitely a hill of two halves though, as the second section is a steep and sometimes sketchy path with some boggy bits and boulderfields.
Not the most interesting hill to climb - but compensated for by the views at the top (53.30), however, it was really windy by this stage so I didn't fancy hanging around too long appreciating them. Minced down through the boulders and then back against the headwind along the track: made good time for the return (41.30) but could've taken it easy: A9 was at a standstill for a RTA at Drumochter that took an hour to clear :-(
