Parked opposite disused Amulree Hotel under renovation, crossed new road bridge and track between farm and keeper's cottage on Wade's military road which, shortly after crossing wooden bridge over Glenfender Burn, joins estate road going up Glen Fender passing 50 bee hives. Further up the glen it branches and taking the right branch zigzagging steeply up past grouse butts it continues further up than on map, right to top of Beinn Liath 607m 2.5 hours and recently constructed track over to pass just right below Meall Dearg 3.5 hours. (The lower left branch continues up the glen and bends round left to join up with track from Wester Kinloch). Dominant feature is Griffin 68 wind turbine array to north.
From trig point summit of Meall Dearg 690m, SW to head of glen near outflow of Loch Fender then S up to Creag an Loch 683m 4.5 hours continuing along the ridge of Creag nan Gabhar 608m past 11 more (2 are labelled 10!) grouse butts an extension of the track goes towards Craig Hulich 562m. Steeply down E then SE through craggy outcrops gets down to NE side of fields above farm to rejoin Wade's road and back to car 7.5 hours.

Lots of grouse and many shooting butts probably best avoided on Saturdays 12th August to end September.
