This Big Adventure was a Gift for my Brother's 40th Birthday. He celebrated his Birthday in June already, but we planned this exploring trip for September. He is living in Czech Republic and last time he visited Scotland last Year in June 2014 as we completed successfully The National Three Peaks Challenge ( Ben Nevis - SCOTLAND & Scaffel Pike - ENGLAND & Snowdon - WALES in 24 hours ( We did in 22 hours incl. all the driving ) :D After the great experience we guessed that it was not our last mountains adventure together... 8)
So now, on his 40th Birthday was the great opportunity to prepare another interesting Adventure :D
He flew from Czech Republic on thursday 17.9.2015 around 22:00 to Glasgow ( Fly Delay ), I picked him up there in Airport and we got home around 23:00  Because it was exactly on my Birthday ( 46 ), we were looking forward to start the Adventure as soon as possible :D 8) :D Originally I was planning the start for trips from saturday and do some of those mountains: Aonach Eagach, Bla Bheinn, Liathach, An Teallach, Suilven, Ben Hope...or Crib Goch in North Wales. Watching the weather forecast every day and then almost every hour close to the day  , Scotland won !!! 8) :D The weather changed many times, but shortly before the trip the West and North looked promising for friday and saturday, then some rain from Central and West on sunday, continuing on the North slowly during monday...rainy days after. By the reason we decided to use the friday and saturday for some Finest Mountains and heading to North on sunday and monday, just before the oncoming rain...Plan made :D and because the time is going very quickly and the distance between home and the areas is not short we prepared all our necessary things and started our first trip at 01:00 am without sleeping  :D no alarm required !
Below is the Story...Day by Day, incl. all routes, summaries, photo selection and most important part is in the Video - filmed our walk / climbing / scrambling the Mountains and photo collection from every route...Hope you will enjoy it and the Video - Highlights will be useful for your trips as we really got the clear views every day of the trip 8) :D :D

As writen above for this trip we did not sleep  , back home from Airport we prepared our stuff and by more circumstances we decided for Bla Bheinn for the first trip on friday. 8) :D 8)
Started from home around 01:00   , heading via Stirling, Perth, Dalwhinie and many more we got to the start point at Isle of Skye around 06:00 morning...still in darkness. We started our walk at 06:24 am, little worried about the views as some cloud was hiding the top, but during the walk we enjoyed sunrise and clear blue sky with great inversion from the summit. :D 8) 8) :D

Looking back to Bla Bheinn from the bottom, almost in car park...clear day is starting and we will go back to Glasgow to catch the Everest in Cinema at 16:30

We got back to the car park at 10:26 am, met some walkers who just started their walk in the bottom...
We were in a hurry to get back home early afternoon, take shower and change clothes for another action: Movie "EVEREST" 8) It was surprise for my Brother to see the Highest Mountain of the World after our trip   I bought our tickets on-line in advance for the friday 18.9. start at 16:30 :D It was world premiere of the movie...great timing for us 8) :D 8) I can really recommend the movie, really great !!!   We enjoyed it in 3D 8) :D

After the first long distanced quick trip to Isle of Skye and great EVEREST movie after, without sleeping the previous night, we spent at least short celebrating time at home and then prepared our stuff again for longer trip to the North  :D 8) Some little change by the weather forecast again ( rain and clouds forecast earlier for Torridon ), we decided for An Teallach - one of the finest scottish mountains for the saturday, some more Munro routes printed for the sunday's selection...Ben Hope planned for monday. Busy Mountains schedule for the following three days, but I wanted to prepare different types of Mountains for every day ( Sea and Islands views, Ridge walk, Pinnacle scrambling, Multi Munros Walk and Special Most Northern Munro with the End of Scottish Mainland and sea Views...Plan made with big hope for the views especially going so far away and this fine mountains...deserve views :D :? 8) :D
We woke up at 04:00 am, but some how we left home very late...around 07:00 am !!!  :o
This late start was rewarded by views from An Teallach...firstly we saw some clouds on top...all the highest level and the Pinnacles hidden, :? but in the time we got there everything was clear in the right time... 8) 8) :D 8) 8) very happy and grateful for the views :D 8) :D We started the walk just before 12:00 from Dundonnell car park. We met a lot of people walking back the same way after the two Munros, but we decided to enjoy the main adventure...ridge walk and the Pinnacles scrambling, all circle...returned back to the car park in darkness at 20:50, but the last a little over three kilometres walked safely on the road.

After the great long day, we finished at 20:50...and then started looking for some place for our camping overnight...hard to find in the darkness, but we did and then we slept well in my 2 Men Tent
You will find it in the video from the following day

After this walk we finished around 19:40 ( started around 12:00 )...it was a big dillema to add also the three Munros just opposite of Sgurr Mor, but counting the time we wanted to finish in daylight and get some accomodation as the rain forecast for the night did not offer better comfort than any B & B or Hotel with a shower, beer and Breakfast    ( as you have seen at the End of the video ).

.............................................................................................................................................................................................

Day 4: Monday 21.9.2015
Ben Hope Extended Route - Most Northern Munro views

Distance: 13.3 km
Time: 4.34 h
Ascent: 1022 m

It was really nice to sleep in a bed, have a hot meal, drink cold beer, take a shower and get a full scottish breakfast in the morning. :D We powered our feelings by haggis - it belong to the exploring trip to eat the scottish national food 8) :D  8)
After the breakfast we started our way to the North for our last target Ben Hope...we were always one step ahead of the rain moving to the North  8) :D and by the way we enjoyed the views also from Ben Hope 8) I was really happy as I wanted the views for my Brother, especially the Most Northern Munro is great view point to see end of the mainland, sea and great scenery around 8) :D 8)
We just missed the nice typical view of Ben Hope from a distance - from the East side, as we followed the Sat Nav despite the fact that there was a plate "Road Closed ahead". We continued driving on the road, just to see how is it there and if we will be able to get to the Ben. The road was closed 2.5 km before the Start Point, there is work on the road in progress and they are building a new bridge. By the reason, we returned back a little ( 0.5 km ) and started our walk from there rather than going around all the distance. It means that we extended the usual route for extra almost 6 km in total ( 3 km there and back )...but despite the fact we finished all the walk just after 4 1/2 h. Also here we were worried about the visibility from the summit, because some clouds were covering just the peak all the time...but fortunatelly it was clear when we got there on top :D 8) :D
It was a great moment and special feelings on the summit and also on the edge...finishing our big trip in such a great point...really great !!! We enjoyed the way home, talking about the great time together, new experiences...we were grateful and happy for all the views each day of the big trip. We got home around 22:40 - on monday 21st of September...

We enjoyed 4 great days in Paradise...and now I was making this report almost 4 days as well    But Scotland is a really Beautiful Country...and such a great place deserve the extra effort as a price for all the views.
Hope you enjoyed the views with us at least by this report as sometime happens that the weather is against :? Also hope that this report can be helpful and useful for planning your trips to the North... :) 8)

By the way, if you are planning to do the Ben Hope soon, dont follow your Sat Nav...dont turn left after Altnaharra, but follow the road up via Tongue and Hope to arrive to the Ben Hope car park from the North...

What a fantastic 40th birthday present! You must have spent hours planning and organising it all. Your weather watching paid off as well - great photos and videos too. Hope your brother rises to the challenge and does something amazing for your 50th!

Great report Petr, and a great choice of mountains for your brother to experience.
An Teallach is one high on our agenda, is it ok ? I'm only a wee bit envious   we were hoping to do that this year but we'll have to wait now, ah well, next year maybe, but your vid certainly stirred the blood.
Great videos and great choice for the sound tracks.
Stay safe.
