Walkhighlands

Leaving home I noticed the sky was nice and clear moon and stars showing
Halfway along Loch Lomond I could see the clag was well down along here
and only in the matter of 12 miles
Passing along between Tyndrum and Dalmally it started to rain
But arriving at the layby just before Cruachan train station it was again dry
but very misty
Anyway I was soon booted up and on my way gaining height quickly



Reaching the dam I headed over to the left to take the path there as I had
my walking partner Jake with me and hes not to good at going up ladders



Heading round the loch the clag was down within yards of the shoreline



I soon reached the small cairn indicating the start of the ascent up Coire Dearg
and past the waterfalls





2 hours after setting out we were on the summit of Ben Cruachan
with nothing to see I took a pick and set off for Stob Diamh



I was soon at the Cruachan Slabs and to be honest even though it was wet
they were no great obstacle ,jake did deploy his built in crampons
But we were over in no time and continued anlong the ridge
NOT that I could see it at any point and the next point we stopped was the
Cairn marking the Summit of Stob Diamh



I then headed down the decent path for about 400yds and stopped here
for us both to enjoy a spot of lunch in the clag
After 10 mins we started heading back down and then the sun was showing
some very slight signs of breaking through





Dropping down Lairaig Torran I was then into the only real wet and boggy
part of the walk



Soon I was back at the dam and headed down the road and back across
to reache the path back for the final decent through the trees





I was soon out of the trees and back at the car ,there were a few more that had
arrived since I had set out
Clag or not I enjoyed my walk and will return sometime again and hope to see
the views ive seen in other reports

Pity for the clag...I did the Cruachan in winter condition and no visibility around the top, but clear views in lower level... Hope you will get the clear views next Keep walking
