Meikle Bin is a brilliant short walk that is perfect for the younger ones. It starts off with a gentle uphill stroll through the forest. Dotted along the way are marker posts which are numbered which would make it interesting for the kids to be able to count on the way up and more importantly, let them know when they are getting close to the end on the way back down! :D

Once you clear the forest track there is also a perfectly placed picnic bench to take a break before starting the short steep climb up to the summit. Once you reach this point, the summit is only around 20-30 minutes away.

Unfortunately on our visit, the weather turned just as we reached this point so we were unable to take in the views from the top. As you can see from the picture below it was pretty wild at the top. We have since discovered that we need to purchase a waterproof cover for our back-packs!
