Two that became one

My daughter and I set off with the intention of doing Geal Charn and A'Mharconaich, but following the directions stated on the map I found on here, I ended up going up Creagan Mor a 772m hill to the NE of Geal Charn then tackled the days munro from the North.

Now realise my mistake was taking the first branch off to the right from the path and not the second 'obvious' branch to the right which was a bit further up.

A good walk with some stunning views (not least the underside of a tornado fighter plane) but not the one I intended.

Will double check route descriptions before venturing out again.

Hi Nedski,
I find it easy to blindly follow the wrong path as you have done here. You need to keep your wits about you when going of into the hills and improve your map reading skills I done the same to a very lesser degree with Fingeez when we went up that way. We crossed the bridge and followed the path which ultimately leads to the top of the smaller hill, but after 30m or so we skipped across the heather onto the ridge to Geal Charn. Enjoy.

Ahh yes i remember that path and the heather clad slopes afterwards that sapped my energy away lol and Monty skipped across hahaha

But yeah as Monty says it is very easy to follow and nice clear path the wrong way (see the Carn Mairg Circuit lol)
