When I arrived in Fort William the weather had changed. True to tradition my old Anaoch Mor welcomed me with a lot of wind on Wednesday, October 21. Once more I chose for the route via the Nevis Range. It was quite easy to reach the summit but the gales were so strong and the visibility so poor that I had to forget about climbing Aonach Beag. Very tired but with an immense feeling of satisfaction I slowly walked down and took the number 41 bus back to Fort William.

Did you head up via the mountain bike track or did you find a more suitable route?
I did Aonach Mor in similar conditions, but luckily for me the cloud moved away, so I found the cairn quite easily. Could be a problem in thick mist, but obviously not for you!

Hi Silverhill! Again I took the mountain bike track. I’m not sure whether it’s legal. Luckily I didn’t meet anybody who forbid it. On the plateau of Aonach Mor there was a strong gale and the view was poor. To find the summit cairn, I had to put on my goggles once more.
