Thought I would share a few pics of the walk on Sunday since I noticed there isn't a picture up of Deuchar Law on the site. Just Johnny Corbett's wee report. Maybe Paul might add ma pic

Destination was Dun Rig for the Highways club walk. The bus dropped us off at Orchard Mains & we aimed for the first hill Orchard Rig.

The snow was ankle deep at times & progress was slow.

We descended SW where the snow was even deeper. Up to the knees at a few points. Then it was onto Peat Hill then a short descent before the wee climb to Deuchar Law. I located the wee cairn using the GPS as it was buried under the snow. After Deuchar Law it was NE over to the Southern Upland Way & back to Traquair. A good day but hard at times due to the heather/deep snow bashing.

Thanks for sharing these photos with us :) . As you say a good day oot. These hills are sort of local to me and I'm always interested in new routes that are somewhat removed from the obvious. This is one I'll certainly look at the next time I feel like doing Dun Rig. Its always been starting from Peebles in the past so this will make a good change. And it does help when the author puts the route on the GPS Planner. Pity you had the long walk out to the village hall at Traquair. :(
