Was working until 1pm today, but didn't want to miss out on the nice spell of weather so made a mad dash up to Glen Doll after lunch with the three dogs - Fly was allowed to come along for this one! - for a quick walk following the white water trail before it got dark. It was 3pm by the time I got there but the car park was busy with people still heading out. It's a route I've done many times, though normally I add it to our route when heading up to Corrie Fee or the Dounault Trail, but there was no time to be doing those and anything longer would be too much for my retired doggy anyway! So we made a good pace, and as it was too dark to get any decent photos my camera stayed in the bag so there was no getting distracted taking photos. I was surprised by how relatively dry the route was considering the rain, there were a few muddy patches but nothing that was a problem. The dogs had great fun running around, playing about and jumping in the burns especially Fly as it has been a while since she has been up there, though it was disappointing that the snow was so much higher up! Keeping a brisk pace, we did the circuit in about 45 minutes which is a good length for Fly (who is really limited to 45-60 minutes max) and while it is shorter than what the other two are used to, the fact that they could run around for most of the walk probably made up for that.
Great quick walk for a winter afternoon!
