Walkhighlands

Tried to do this one on Sunday 24/01/2016 but the first river crossing was impossible - it was far to deep, fast flowing and strong. We then decided to head back and ascend the descent path. The snow conditons just beyond the waterfall were awful and the going was tough! We made about 300m in 15 mins and were thigh deep in super soft/ slushy snow for a lot of it so just turned back.
Hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky whenever I make it back...

I had to turn back on Hartfell last Thursday, but looking forward to going back again. If your keen enough try the five munros at Lochnagar, its actually not that demanding of a walk.

If its any consolation, Laura, the Lochnagar 5 took me 3 goes. On all 3 occasions the weather was shite!

Beinn nan Aighenan has beaten me three times - last time I didn't even get out of the car park!

Sorry for it, feeling with you...also travelling there so far... , but maybe it means you will get there next time - in the right time and enjoy the great area more, with all the satisfaction
I agree with Tomsie, keep it for longer daylight and try to do all the 5 Munros circle ( maybe also incl. the one wee Corbett on the beginning, which I missed last time... ), it's great route all the 5
