Great day for bagging so off to Glencoe Alex and I went to do the 2 outsanding Munro’s in the Glencoe range we had left, Sgorr Dhearg and Sgorr Dhonuill. we parked at the tourist office in Ballachulish and headed for Sgorr Dhearg, the start was steep and a bit boggy, but the views across Loch Leven to the Pap of Glencoe were excellent so there was a decent distraction.
There’s still loads of snow and ice so the crampons were on and the ice axe out of the bag, we had a couple of flurries of snow but they never came to anything, when we reached the summit of Sgorr Dhearg there was a bitter wind, which stopped the day being perfect, the views were stunning all round. The walk from Sgor Dhearg across to Sgorr Dhonuil was a bit tricky at times due to the ice and snow but worth every bit of the effort. Cracking day.
