Thanks Weeshazza and Fionn!

Fionn, I probably take 1 step to your 3, but at least you don't hit your head on every doorway in the UK

Briliant report Stretch (I realise im weeks behind everyone with this). Just read it after seeing it got report of the month. This forum is excellent. I have only been on here a couple of days but everytime I read someones report of a Munro experience it makes me want to go and climb that one.

Also your pics are stunning, especially the panoramas. What kit do you use? I cant seem to get as vibrant pics as everyone else is achieving.

Hi Eddie and thanks for the nice comment. I use a Canon Rebel Xti, its slightly older now at 10mp but its still a fine camera. Just used the standard 55mm lens on this walk and I use photoshop to touch up bits of the pics. You should definetely do this route on a nice day, the reward is brilliant. I have one of the pics from this as my desktop wallpaper and I was just imagining how cool it would be to do this with a bit of snow on the hill.

A beautiful and moving report. When we reconnect with the natural world around us, we are focused. Time stands still because we are in the moment. In the present real time. No past, no future. Just the here and now. It's exhilarating and certainly the main reason for most of us to either go into the hills, to go sailing, wild swimming, etc etc.

I just hope we value and cherish it enough to really take good care of it.

when i first moved to Edinburgh from Canada I got home sick. it wasn't very often but when it did happen I found that a trip to burger king would sort it out well fast.

don't get homesick anymore i've now got my wife and daughter and the UK has become my home and it will remain untill winter 2013-2014 when i intend on moving back home for good.

i've got few more trips to scotland planned only once or twice a year so I intend on only doing good old classic scottish walks and the Bookle is at the top of my list for christmas.

Wow! I heard you talking about this report and how you were feeling at the time so thought I would hunt it out and very well worth it it was too, having met you at the weekend it makes it all the more moving and, in a purely selfish way I am so very glad you stayed otherwise I would never have met you and would have had to make do with tales of 'The Mighty Stretch'!! and you would have been blissfully unaware of the 'One eyed, boss eyed, crosseyed girl!!'

Take care and Keeeep walking!

Cheers all, it was certainly a turning point for me. Despite how ready I am to head home now, I'm glad I stayed and kept up the fight, surely it will be worth it in the end.

Jane - I would have hated to miss Monty's rendition of Brown-eye Girl - that song will never be the same now.
