Friday- 1130am Billy and I arrive to drop our food off ~ "the by the way " bunkhouse, where the KMC Burns supper will be held. It`s snowy, cold with bright sunshine. Gear up and head for Beinne na Sroine an easy Graham - straight up and down. We hit an uphill track minutes after parking the car and were soon kicking steps with the snow getting deeper as we climbed. - now calf to thigh deep and so the slower we go. Nice views of the Ben Lui group and glen lochy - the river looks fordable but thats from up here - my watch altimeter and temp gauge has blanked out - may need a new battery. There`s plenty of sun but nae wind as we toil ever upwards - till finally - a cairned top. The circular trig pole beckons from 200m across a short plateau- and plenty of snaw - thigh deep - every step a major effort - an attempt to dog walk across brings a laugh from my trailbreaker, and then we are there.! Great views over Cruachan Starav and Challum. Time to head down - seen enroute . deer birds trucks motors and trains. Good to have a hot shower and meet up with club members - old and new - so up in 2.05hrs down in 20min.
