Last visited the area on a scorching (well okay warmish by non-Highland standards) day to complete the five Munros on the White Mount circuit. Today was a different beast minus 4 degrees C on the car (must've been at least minus 10 by the lochside  ) and pretty much snowing the whole time.

Last time we were here we were high up on the White Mounth and it was t-shirts and sunhats all around.

We were wrapped up like sausages in buns so the cold wasn't a problem. Our dog is a Collie and his fur (like his sweet little brain) is very dense.

Followed the route as per WH route and walked straight into the teeth of the bitingly cold wind. Underfoot was challenging with impacted snow and ice that had melted and re-frozen but at least it gave us a bit of a challenge (it's nice to feel that you've earned something ) . The walk was very straightforward (just follow the path around the loch).

At the head of the loch the 2015 pre-Christmas floods had swept a bridge away and flood damage was evident in the plant debris strewn about. The rougher path on the west side of the loch had suffered a small landslip and a much larger one but both are passable with care (even in the ice and snow).

Posh Bothy.

Lots of people out and about enjoying a wintery circuit like us. Now sat at home in front of the log burner with dinner cooking. A pleasant day.
