Carn nan Gabhar

Another good day on the hills, we parked at the car park opposite Loch Moraig, (there's a trench between the tar and the actual parking area, (watch the front of your car).

We headed along the road to Carn Liath, when we got on top there was still a fair bit of cloud cover and the odd flurry of hail stones, but nothing to spoil the walk other than the lack of views. As we headed off the summit the cloud started breaking up which allowed us to see the other hills. There is still a lot of snow on the hills but nothing to make the walk difficult, no need for crampons, (yesterday anyway). As we left Carn Liath there was a fair bit of snow creating a ledge to get down to the path, we pretty much had to take a step into the ledge, but due to the amount of soft snow things were okay.

The climbs up Braigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain and then Carn nan Gabhardid did have lots of snow but both were reasonably good walking between both summits and with the clouds shifting the views were just getting better.

There wasn't too much wildlife about, we did see some grouse and deer, but the displays from the Lapwings were the highlights due to the amount of them in the area.

The only negative about the trip was the walk out, the path was quite messy, we chose to walk through the heather rather than even attempt using it.
