- Approaching Coigach and Inverpolly Forest :)
- Several miles round now at the road end past Achiltibuie .....
- Views across the entrance to Loch Broom and southwards over to An Teallach. Our plan had been to climb up onto Ben More Coigach, but gusts of wind were unsettling us a little, particularly Valerie who was feeling less well rooted than my good hefty self LOL
- The west ridge of Ben More Coigach, our original plan, but left for another day due to high gusting winds. A great reason to make a return visit :) :) :)
- Shelter sought in this beautiful Allt nan Coisiche .... Stayed here for more than a few minutes ..... you can see why! Though when standing back up again and spinning on the spot, I knocked Valerie's phone clean out of her grip smashing it's screen on the rocks. Fortunately it was already overdue for renewal and it still worked despite a thousand cracks .... mattered not a jot really after the peace and joy experienced here in this unique sheltered stream.
- The northwest facing side of Ben More Coigach ...
- Very fine views across the sea with the Summer Isles patterned below .... always drawing the eye from every angle :)
- Almost up now onto Sgurr an Fhidhleir, first summit of the day (originally planned as second), but anticipation growing at this point as a big reward for our efforts was still to behold despite missing out BM Coigach for another day ....
- Wonderful vistas appear across the lochs, mountains and the sea .... :) :) :)
- Inverpolly National Nature Reserve and the Hills of Assynt :) :) :)
- A summit platform or stage if ever there was one ... so deserving of a return trip or two :)
- The glorious northwest of Scotland!!!
- The howling gusts even relaxed for us here, though great care was required with securing possessions and selfs ...
- Feeling "no bad", to put it lightly :) :) :)
- Wondrous Stac Pollaidh and Mighty Suilven !!!
- One of the world's most amazing playgrounds :)
- A glance backwards (one of many) to where we had been, Sgurr an Fhidhleir :)
- Valerie definitely enjoying her day out, now on top of Beinn Caorach :) :) :)
- The ferry returning from Stornoway in to Loch Broom and Ullapool :)
- Careful dropping off now to where Hector was parked in Culnacraig.
- Final small challenges of a spectacular day :)
- On the road home now for the night, looking again at Sgurr an Fhidhleir standing proud towards its east side. We were soon enjoying a fireside bar meal and a special treat staying in a lovely wee B&B harbour side in Ullapool :)
