Following our fantastic walk into the Coigach last Monday, Tuesday offered another spectacular day in the northwest. The Corbert called Sail Mhor is south of Ullapool and just northwest of the super majestic An Teallach. This was the day's target and what a reward it was, despite some prevailing strong summit winds.
Bags were packed, boots were on and we were parked up at Ardessie on the shores of Little Loch Broom:
1 (1024x576).jpg
The first 20 minutes of the walk is packed with simply stunning waterfalls and rock formations :)
2 (1024x576).jpg
The falls of Allt Airdeasaigh and Sail Mhor towering above :)
3 (1024x576).jpg
A view back over Little Loch Broom below :)
4 (1024x576).jpg
Rising up now into the vast streams and bowls forming foothills of An Teallach, and an ideal spot to look back over the sea and enjoy a fly cup :)
5 (1024x576).jpg
Sail Mhor from the side now, as we are skirting up and round the back before ascending to the summit :)
6 (1024x576).jpg
River crossing the Allt :)
7 (1024x576).jpg
Swinging up into lower Sail Mhor and looking over southwards now to An Teallach and beyond into Fisherfield :)
8 (1024x576).jpg
The lower summit Rugh Mheallain with the lochs to south, Loch an Eich Dhuigh and Loch Mor Bad an Ducharaich :)
9 (1024x768).jpg
Final approaches with myself looking over the edge and Valerie trying to keep her feet on the ground LOL ( I did make sure she felt safe and secure :) )
10 (1024x768).jpg
On top of Sail Mhor south cairn :)
11 (1024x576).jpg
Some shelter and exhilarating panoramas all around :)
12 (1024x768).jpg
Lunch spot number 2 slightly below the summit and what a joy!
13 (1024x362).jpg
Sail Mhor and the Minch horizon :)
14 (1024x768).jpg
An Teallach backgrounds now dominate the downwards path :)
16 (1024x576).jpg
My favourite part of the day picking our way down glorious slabs and pebbles taking great care not to disturb anything in waiting, be it plant life or wildlife. This is why we do it, legs stretched, lungs exercised plenty time left and more snacks in the pac, and oh! Look at the views :)
17 (1024x768).jpg
Dropping off Sail Mhor following Valerie, her wee double steps to my single strides LOL
18 (1024x768).jpg
If I can be doing this, affording supper and a wee dram for at least several days of my holidays, I'll be happy forever ~:) :) :)
19 (1024x768).jpg
Sgurr Ruadh :)
20 (1024x768).jpg
Time to exercise river crossing skills once more :)
21 (1024x768).jpg
Ready, steady ..... LOL
22 (1024x768).jpg
Go! He he .... :)
24 (1024x768).jpg
A beautiful lone tree on the slopes back down near the shores :)
25 (1024x768).jpg
A boulder in limbo, and a seriously big one too :)
26 (1024x768).jpg
Friendly faces wait to greet us, safely back down off the mountain to finish off what has been an incredibly special and fulfilling mountain day :) :) :)

This is a brilliant hill did it at the WH meet in November last year, did it slightly different from you headed up West side of burn cut up to a wee scramble to reach the summit and came down the way you went up. But overall stunning views all around and one to be kept for a clear view day. Oh the lovely Corbetts those that chose to miss them out are truly missing out  :D

Superb, great report, great photos.

Every time I see this hill in a report I want to go and sit by those waterfalls.

I must have been driving past you as you were coming down :) It was a lovely day, I spent a lot of it on the beach though, didn't get as good a view as you did :) Looks spectacular up there, nice report.

Great report! Yes, it's a grand wee hill.

As I commented on Rodmiester's TR http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=55122&p=291041#p291041 the scouring from the August 2014 flash flood is amazing: compare your first shot with this one (not mine) from 2012 :
