Jamie and I - day 2 campervan trip - 10.45 am to 8.15 pm
forrest lodge epic, Eco estate owned by Fred Olsen Group.
long walk thro forest, clear felled plus path to bottom Cairnsgaroch - rough tussocky approach 1h15m. Easy to main ridge and out and back to CofP by 2.30pm - meet 2 groups of 2 walkers. Eventually reach Corbett after 6hrs? - break enjoying views then last summit by 6.30pm. Descend Meikle lump to stile and footsore yomp back along estate forest roads.
4hrs from CofP to MM, after taking 3.5hrs just to reach start ridge via Cairnsgarroch
weather superb -cold wind behind us
superb traverse - extensive views of Merrick range - hard work but worth it...
Tonight park off A712 - black loch forest track - small quarry sheltered.
