The first km is steep but with good solid turf underfoot. Once on the high ground the going gets boggier, and the final approach to Cort-ma Law is pretty bad....however it is as nothing compared to the horror of peat and bog that is the approach to Lecket Hill.
The descent back to the road is easy, with a stream to negotiate just before the road is reached. The only option is to walk along the road back to the car park...the signed "Informal Route" is nothing but a trudge over rough ground with nothing to recommend it. I lasted a few hundred yards before gladly heading back to the road.
