Park by ruined east gatehouses of Balintore Castle (now being renovated) and start up track through gate into field.

Should probably have walked through the wood instead. Cross fence into wood to find a stile on the far side. Cross the moor to the track leading all the way (almost) to trig point. Many lines of grouse butts seen during the day + feeding stations. Startle three mountain hares (white) and a couple of dozen grouse during the walk. Exchange waves with estate worker on quad bike as stop for a drink after half an hour. Warm sunny day with gentle breeze. I didn't even need my fleece. Good views all round from the top.

From summit continue beside fence down to join the track that heads to Cormaud and after passing that head NE to then take a descending traverse under Tarapetmile to the col at the head of Glen Quharity. Cross this near the fence line as before then it looked very boggy.

Take the track marked on the map up Cairn Corse stopping a short way up for lunch and a rest. A cool breeze had sprung up so put my fleece on. At Corwharn summit wander around to hit the point marked on the OS map then stop at the pillar cairn for a few minutes and more photos.

From Corwharn follow the ridge route southwards to where the map shows a track along the Long Drum ridge and down past trees into Glen Quharity. Walk out finding part of the road after Longdrum farm had been moved away from Quharity Burn. Say Hi to farmer as pass Westerton. Divert to walk past Balintore Castle to view restoration work.
