Chucking it down with rain when I left North Lanarkshire at 7 am, hoped an early start would help beat the traffic , no luck got caught up in Perth and Dundee, however a good drive up from there to Glen Esk.Got to the car park by 10 am,by that time the conditions were good for walking, however a bit breezy. Followed the route from the car park, basically very little navigation required as you just go along the well maintained pathway to the summit.
Had good views of the Cairngorms at the top, didn't hang about too long as the wind had picked up considerably, however on the way back, got "buzzed " by an RAF fighter jet as it flew through the Glen 8) , one for the memory bank. Pleasant day out and another blue dot for the map.
