So this was it - our final day in Assynt, and with it an attempt to summit it's most iconic mountain :D Having been obsessing over the forecast for some time, it was clear that Monday was going to offer by far the best day - sun, clear skies, and high temperatures. When we awoke early (a 5 and a half hour drive home meant we were going to have to do this sharpish), it was already pretty warm. Breakfast and packing was done quickly, and we were on the road the Lochinver, turning up the single track road towards Glencanisp House and the car park. Suilven, the sugar loaf, juts up in the distant east like a mirage. Onward!

There's nothing better than Suilven on a sunny day :D :D :D So stunningly beautiful yet so far away from everywhere.

Agreed! Don't know if I would fancy climb (or the bog for the matter) in wet conditions to be honest - we were very lucky :D
