First hill I've climbed in a while, went with my uncle and a friend of his. We've been wanting to get up this hill for a while, since our dog Meagaidh (or Meg) was named after this hill. She's now 9, and we thought this summer would be the last real opportunity to get her up the hill that is her namesake. It started off as quite a rubbish day for weather, and I was expecting a lot of drizzle, but it brightened up within an hour of us starting the walk. The way up was pretty straightforward, with some rocky scrambling towards the top, but nothing difficult. However, on the way down, we decided (my uncle decided) that we shouldn't bother with the path on the way down, but just run down another side of the hill instead. I would recommend taking the path next time. The way we chose (my uncle chose) was rather overgrown with heather and grass, which is a bad combination with multitudes of rabbit holes, ditches etc, and slightly spoiled the walk for me. Anyhow, we made it, and as I said, the way up was very pleasant, and the view from the top was pretty impressive, seeing all the way over to Ben Nevis and such like. Anyway, having accidentally left my camera in a friend's bag in Germany this summer holiday, my camera's having a relaxing time in the south of France (where said friend lives), we used my uncle's camera, so I will get photos up here as soon as I can get them from him. I'd definitely recommend the walk, the scenery all the way up is great, and if I could give any advice, it'd be follow the path on the way down. Oh, and if you're taking dogs, be careful... There are sheep, and dogs do chase them... That is all
