Thurs. Beinn Chireadail and Corra Bheinn from Glen More. Thoughts are for an early start and easier day. Forecast is for hot, with cloud maybe on Friday, so up and out by 6am - past yesterday`s pair to park on the old road below the craggy face of Choireadail then head strait up. Grass gives way to heather then rock and makes for fast route. Pass a wee lochan and thro bands of gabbro to reach the cairn in about an hour. A break, then rather than climb over it, down SW, to cross a burn and skirt the S face of Beinn a`Mheadhain, ( the hill that lies between these two,) on the 350m contour line. The going improves into the mouth of Coir a Mhaim with more burns. The easy angled broad slopes of the coire gives a stress free jaunt onto the ridge then to the cairn of Corra Bheinn. Great views of Cruachan Dearg - a neighbouring top, the long ridge of Beinn Fhada with its spikey tip, the pointed triangle of A`choich- a cracking scramble and the mass of Ben More, all done as a round in 1994 - on a KMC final munro trip. The blue of Loch Ba shines in the sun, while S across the road lies loch Fuaran and Beinn Buie. Part of tomorrows menu, it looks black but doable from this side. Warmer now, I return the way I came, slosh around in the burn for ages and watch the pondskaters, each with its own area of water. The drop down to the road sees more heather then a 2.5km walk back to the car. Seen enroute nobody til I hit the road, eagles again, deer, hares and sheep plenty birdlife - a nicer day.
