Love this area and its been a while since i last visited for walking the munros and stayed in the bothy..same start from craig and up the alt a chonais to a small wooden bridge which is fixed to a small tree but well secured.once across the chonais i took a compass bearing in the direction of the summit and was soon on a great stalkers path which zig zags its way up to the ridge and continues with great walking past loch sgurr na feartaig then a small steeper section to the large summit cairn..great views out to torriddon and over to the cullins of skye..a steep drop on grassy rakes has you down to the bealach bearnais in no time with views down to pollan buidhe on one side and bearnais bothy on the other if you can make it out.from here i climbed an obvious steep grassy section to take me onto the ridge of beinn tharsuinn and views of the summit ahead and the munro bidean a choire sheasgaich ahead.with great weather i was in no hurry and enjoyed the experience once on the summit.I returned same route to bealach bearnais then followed the footpath down to pollan buidhe then back down by the alt a chonais back to craig..i had looked at other options on routes and had chosen a great one for getting onto the ridges earlier for the scenery.excellent views over to fuar tholl and an ruadh stac.
