Caw Fell Wild CampWeather had been spot on so decided last minute to go for a wild camp; and tie it in with three un-bagged Wainwrights.
We parked at Bowness Knot Car park on Ennerdale and walked along the side of the lake, crossing the bridge and heading straight on into the forest.
From there we followed the sometimes disappearing path up along Silvercove Beck to the summit of Caw Fell. Stopped to rest and take some photographs on the summit, before moving on a little bit to the chose camp site alongside Little Gowder Crag.
There are a lot of nice flat grassy camping spots up here, all with superb views down the valley overlooking Seatallen.
After a nice nights sleep, with hardly any wind and no rain at all interrupting it. We were up and away at 6 in the morning.
We wandered up Haycock, and then along and up to Steeple.
By this point the cloud had come in and so the walk along the ridge from Steeple back to Ennerdale was an interesting one!
Having arrived back at the forest we then wandered back to the lake, before following the side of it back to the car.
A brilliant stop out, and three more Wainwrights ticked off!
