Parked at the Village Hall in Luthrie and followed the WH route for the circuit, a good sunny afternoon but still with a chill in the air. Turned right at Carphin House Lodge, then veered to the left at Emily Cottage, anyone know who Emily was?

Carphin Dovecot (18th C) was on the left as Carphin Farm was approached.

Looking North to a snow capped horizon.

Small patches of snow about 2-3 ft across were still lying in the shade at the summit and the views all round were clear. Left a snowball on the trig point as part of a climate warming experiment.

To Dundee and the Tay Estuary

To E and W Lomond

Could easily see Schiehallion around 45 miles away, but hard to spot in a photo.

Said hello to a fellow walker arriving at the summit before I headed off downhill. A few weeks later discovered I had had the honour of meeting Sgurr on her impressive seven before seventy seven outing! http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=62760

On the return track passed the ruins of Denmuirhill farmstead, Mid 19th C, square sheep fold on left and farm buildings to rear at right. Not sure where they kept the round sheep though.

Footpath returning to Luthrie, with occasional signs of use by horses, and not just hoofprints.

Lastly, Norman’s Law from the pasture near Wester Kinsleith.
Definitely a good breath of fresh air, and a fortuitous meeting.

Much better to do it this way and savour the views than a smash and grab raid like me. This is our normal route.
