The early South bound train gives time for this walk and plenty to spare, there is good food at the Corrour Station House and they are very relaxed about you sitting there for a while over your cup of tea; the trains are not that frequent! Looking at the map the obvious route seems to be up the broad ridge from the end of the loch. My trusty guide book had it differenly and sent me along the loch edge to just before the forestry and then straight up the hill, crossing the deer fence at a stile. Its not that far and not that much ascent but its pretty rough going at times, so the clear path down the ridge looked a better option for the return journey. I like a round trip. It's a short day and you could easily include a walk or a cycle ride round the lock, Leum Ulleim to the West looks quite inviting too. On the day the Army laid on some entertainment. Their landrover was stuck axle deep on a track, another (civilian) Landrover was also in some difficulty having tried to pull them out. A Toyota saved the day for the civilian Landrover but I guess didn't fancy its chances with the Army, A tractor arrived and tacking a firm anchorage some distance away joined up a long length of tow line which parted three times without extricating the Landrover. At this point the train arrived so I did not witness the eventual rescue, but rescued they were when I returned the following week. Perhaps a Chinook was called in?
