My first Graham!

I know most of you super mountaineers will probably try very hard not to laugh your heads off  , but remember... this is a girl who is used to fighting wind(-mills), not steep ascents... I'll beat you on a bike in a Dutch polder anytime!

Was knackered when I got on top, but the views... the views... still getting used to a three-dimensional world, but LOVING it!

Okay, here's the walk in colour

The route

What's yet to come...

The first views half way up

First Views Loch Achray.jpg

Once through the dense conifer forest, blue skies!

The boggy bit.jpg

An fellow traveler basking in the sun (still have to find out what caterpillar?)

Then for the final climb! Getting steeper!

The rocky bit.jpg

Ascent, descent, ascent, descent... driving my legs to despair...

On and on and on.jpg

And then finally...

... the top and the stunning views!

The reward - view toward Loch Achray and Loch Venachar.jpg

And then they ask me why I moved to Scotland...

I'm in love.jpg

Well, partly to escape people... :wtf:

... find true wilderness...

... and enjoy a smooth pint after a walk... 8)

No laughing here, but I'm no super mountaineer ;). It's all about the experiences you have and enjoyment you gain. Looks like the sort of views to get you hooked on this hillwalking malarky though :) . Heights and hill groupings are just for sad baskets like me  .

So true, it's all about the enjoyment. Being 'out there'. Reviving all the senses. I couldn't do without it to be honest.

Still, I very much admire your walking / scrambling and climbing experience! Reading your (and other) blogs is an enjoyment on its own so thanks for sharing! :D
