On 7th August, 2010, my 8 year old son Sean and I walked our first Munro together. We have walked up numerous smaller hills in recent years however, this is our first 'big one'. We picked a beautiful sunny warm day for this walk and met dozens of very friendly fellow walkers en route. We parked near to Ardvorlich house on Loch Earn and spent 5 hrs walking incl 1 hour lunch at the the summit. What a buzz for both of us. We hope to continue with at least another 2 Munros this year.

A big thank you to the nice lady walker who gave my son some sun cream for his face, :D,

Hiya, it looked a cracking day for a walk. Well done to the wee man, hope you both get to do loads more summits together.

Did the wee man do the tricky Stuc a'Chroin scramble? If so, there's no excuse for us old 'uns then.

Fantastic for the two of you! I must have gone up there with my parents when I was Sean's age and tripped on the scramble up Stuc a'Chroin (I will never forget) and was horrified all the way down. Brings back some memories. Sure you will have many more amazing days in the future!

Congrats to both of you, what a great shot of you and your lad - I'm sure he will remember that for many, many years.... then he'll make his first born walk up there  and before you know it a family tradition is born

Well done to both of you   Sean certainly looks like he took it in his stride - wish I could look as relaxed as he does after climbing a hill
